For over a decade, Nev Schulman has graced our television screens as a master investigator and confrontational pro on MTV’s Catfish. Without Nev, there would be a lot of catfish online getting away with it. Luckily, he’s been around to call them out for their questionable morals.
While Nev’s focus on Catfish has been on other people, the reality TV star was forced to turn his attention to himself earlier this year. The MTV presenter almost died in a bicycle accident and broke his neck. At one point, he thought he might never be able to walk again.

Nev almost lost his life
In August this year, Nev took to Instagram to share how he almost lost his life in a terrifying bike accident.
The 40-year-old man detailed how he was on his way to pick up his son from school but “never made it.”
Nev’s injuries were so gruesome that he shared a warning at the beginning of his social media post.
He shared snaps of himself in the hospital and captioned his post with the words: “…Me and the truck. And then I guess the pavement.”
Fortunately, the star detailed that he was not “paralyzed” but still suffered serious injuries to his neck: “C5 and C6 to be exact. Stable fractures. I’m not paralyzed. My hands were a question mark for a minute, but the human body is amazing and so are HUMANS.”
I saw on IG that catfish Nēv had a serious accident and broke his neck and (I think?) his spine as well. He seems to be recovering well but… so sad! I’m not a celebrity worshiper, but I’ve always found him to be such a sweet and genuine human being. I was shocked. I’m glad it’s okay.

The MTV star faces a marathon
After months of physical therapy, Nev takes to Instagram to share a big update with his fans.
The father of three has been recovering for the past three months and now says he is ready to take part in a marathon.
Nev writes on IG on November 3: “Ready to take on my 7th New York Marathon with @teamfrancescoofficial and @achilles_international – it’s been quite a journey to get here.”
Despite nearly losing his life in the summer, Nev is ready to take on a challenge: the world’s longest marathon.
As Nev declares that he has recovered enough to run through all five boroughs of New York City this fall, he mentions a brand he is working with: “Theragun Prime Plus has been with me on my road to recovery… “I’m prepared and ready to hit the streets tomorrow.” !”
