Rebecca Minkoff’s inclusion on The Real Housewives of New York City has been nothing short of confusing, as the fashion designer seemingly glossed over her connection to Scientology to talk about her childhood bed and the contraceptive deal she made with their parents.

Rebecca Minkoff: to be or not to be a Scientologist
Scientology is perhaps one of the most mysterious religions in the world and has apparently touched many parts of celebrity culture. Handmaid’s Tale actress Elisabeth Moss is a long-time member, Tom Cruise is incredibly established in the group and even British icons have been affected.
The religion is also shrouded in layers and layers of controversy, and new documentaries and reports are frequently released about Scientology’s supposed underbelly.
Rebecca Minkoff, who is not related to Rob Minkoff, is one of the two new Housewives of the RHONY franchise. While newcomer Racquel Chevremont has already been put front and center, including a heartbreaking bit about her relationship with her father, Rebecca seems to be actively glossing over the topic on everyone’s lips.
During a cast trip earlier in the season, Brynn and Jessel Taank pressed the fashion designer about her connections to Scientology. When asked what she wanted them to say if they asked her, she emphasized “no comment.”

The only major points we’ve learned about Rebecca Minkoff are her strange attraction to her childhood bed and the even stranger deal she made with her parents.
She previously said: “So we like Brad. I lost my virginity at 16, because my parents had a lot. They said, ‘If you don’t do drugs, we’ll get you birth control pills.’ And I said, ‘Sign me up!’”
Speaking with Page Six ahead of her RHONY debut, Rebecca Minkoff opened up about the intersection of her Jewish faith and Scientology.
“We are in a time and place where we can be divided and lead with hate and intolerance or we can simply be tolerant of people’s beliefs,” he said. “[Scientology] It has helped me personally. It has helped me professionally. It has helped me cope with a lot of stress. That’s what I use it for. It is a method that I apply to help me with stress.”
