Love Is Blind is such a hit among reality TV fans that Netflix is churning out spin-offs like there’s no tomorrow. By attempting to prove that people can fall in love with each other without looks being involved, the Love Is Blind experiment goes global. This fall, viewers were treated to a new spin-off, Love Is Blind Habibi. And of the cast members, one has become a “feminist icon” to some fans.
Karma, a business owner based in the United Arab Emirates, is 29 years old. She headed to the Netflix show looking to find “the one” like the rest of her co-stars. Love Is Blind star Habibi was looking for a partner who embraced life, like her. Although not all viewers are convinced that she appeared in the series for the right reasons.
Love Is Blind Habibi’s ‘elegant’ karma
After much anticipation, the Love Is Blind Habibi reunion episode was released on November 1.
Viewers who tune in can find out which couples stayed together and how many decided to call it quits after the reality show experiment.
Karma is one of the bachelorettes on the show, but she is gaining fans and followers in a big way for her “elegant” and “classy” manner.
Many praise Karma for “standing up for Noor” at the meeting and many even go so far as to say that she is a “feminist icon.”
Some take to Reddit after the reunion episode to write, “Karma was so poised and determined.”
More say they are “impressed” by her, and another comments that they “aspire to be like Karma and Safa combined.”
Another writes: “At first I perceived Karma as just another dumb girl, but how she stood up for herself without getting angry and being super warm and articulate all the time was the prime example of positive feminine energy in all its power. “It was super impressive.”
Critics believe Karma was in it for the ‘fame’
In another Reddit discussion about Karma and Ammar, some critics suggest that Karma was only on the show to become famous.
Someone comments: “He was on the show to find a wife, she was on the show for fame.”
Another says: “…and he was clearly more interested in her than she was in him, she clearly wanted fame mainly…”
A third commenter suggests: “I saw your Instagram. The girl was on the show for fame. She wants to be an actress so much…”
A quick look at Karma’s IG page and she writes in her bio: “Born to act.”
She describes herself as an “artist” and has around 40,000 followers.
Karma isn’t the only Love Is Blind star Habibi who critics have speculated was only on the show for “fame.”
During the season, Asma was called up for the same reason. Another star who ended the show single.
Whether the cast members were in the series for true love or not, they have certainly emerged from the experiment as shining stars, as they seem to have far more fans following the show than critics.
