Tamra Judge has been at the center of almost all the drama during season 18 of RHOC. This year’s episodes have made for uncomfortable viewing for fans as accusations fly around the group. By her side throughout this time is her husband, Eddie Judge. This fall, Eddie addresses some of his own issues during a podcast episode and tells his fans about his “scary” heart condition.

Eddie, 51, and Tamra Judge, 57, have been stars of Real Housewives of Orange County for years. Tamra is something of an OG and her fame has developed to the point that she and her husband have their respective podcasts outside of the Bravo show. Tamra and Eddie are known to be gym lovers and have their own business, CUT Fitness.

Eddie’s heart problem ‘came out of nowhere’

Speaking on his podcast with Edwin Arroyave, The Eds, Eddie shares how he played sports and learned discipline, as well as how he “overcame the pain” during his youth.

The RHOC star didn’t start lifting weights until after high school.

Eddie explains how he got into bodybuilding and ate “burritos, hamburgers” and other junk food that “didn’t work out for him.”

But then he took nutrition classes during college and discovered how important it was for “longevity, growth” and much more.

He goes on to explain how, despite staying fit his entire life, a heart condition “came out of nowhere.”

Eddie gives some background on when he found out about his illness: “I was in my fourth or fifth, maybe sixth year at the gym… CUT Fitness… I was training clients, I was transitioning from cycling to running and It was exciting to me…”

Eddie was “venturing out and trying new things” and “looking for a different motivational experience to share with clients.”

Then one day, he began experiencing “strange episodes” where he “couldn’t breathe.” He says he “felt like I had asthma” and “knew something was wrong.”

“I thought it was my lungs because I couldn’t breathe,” the RHOC star adds.

Before his appointment with a cardiologist, Eddie said his heart rate was sometimes “200 beats per minute.”

In 2018, he had four heart surgeries in four months. Eddie was diagnosed with AFib (atrial fibrillation) the following year.

Eddie always wondered about the heart problem.

In addition to dealing with an AFib diagnosis and multiple medical procedures, Eddie explains how his mental health was affected.

He said he was left wondering, “What did I do to create this heart problem, AFib?”

“I can’t help but think that maybe trying so hard, for so long, for so many years, could have contributed to the problem,” he adds.

Doctors told Eddie that the condition is “partially hereditary” and is more common in “endurance athletes.”

He explains that he didn’t realize he would be considered an “endurance athlete,” but he got a wake-up call and came to the conclusion that he was “trying really hard.”

Eddie says he’s “still learning” and has “completely changed the way he looks at fitness.”

During his ordeal with AFib, the gym owner explains how he experienced “depression” and that it affected his marriage to Tamra.

“Now I’m looking for longevity,” he tells his co-host, Edwin.
