The Tesla Cybertruck has been the subject of controversy since its launch, not only because of its futuristic design, but because of the flaws it has presented.

Recently, this vehicle was back in the spotlight after Dante Colle, an adult film star, decided to test its supposed bullet resistance, one of the features that Tesla has promoted.

Colle, who purchased a Cybertruck, chose to test the vehicle’s durability by shooting it rather than evaluating its driving performance or autonomous driving system.

Through a video shared on the X platform, the actor can be seen pointing a gun and shooting in an open field.

The first shot was directed at the rear of the vehicle, where a considerable hole was created, which initially led to the belief that the bullet had passed through the bodywork.

However, a friend of Colle assured that the project did not completely penetrate the metal.

Colle was not satisfied with the first attempt and performed a second test, this time aiming at the side of the Cybertruck. This time, the bullet seemed to ricochet, leaving only a dent and a scratch in the body, prompting Colle to enthusiastically exclaim, “It worked!”

The reason for this test goes back to statements by Tesla, which ensures that the structure of its Cybertruck is made of a 1.8 millimeter thick stainless steel alloy, designed to be resistant to bullets.

Over time, several Tesla Cybertruck owners have conducted similar tests to test the vehicle’s durability.

However, it is important to note that, despite these features, the Cybertruck has been recalled by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on several occasions due to different problems, including:

  • The font size for the brake, parking, and anti-lock system warning lights was too small to be read clearly on the panel.
  • Problems with the accelerator pedal, which could come off if too much force was applied.
  • The front wiper motor controller stopped working due to electrical overload.
  • The car’s bed molding could come loose and come off while driving.
  • Visibility problems with the rear view camera.

Despite the controversy, the Tesla Cybertruck continues to be one of the most talked-about vehicles in the automotive industry due to its innovative features and the challenges it has faced in its design.
