Asma was ready to show her “character and true essence” ahead of the Love Is Blind Habibi experiment this fall. The Netflix spinoff series launched right after Love Is Blind season 7 in October and there’s a whole group of newbies fans should know about. Two participants, Asma and Khatab, got along well while in the pods.
Khatab from Love Is Blind Habibi couldn’t wait to form a “soul, heart and brain connection” in the capsules. He was willing to “build a life” with someone and wanted to find an “understanding” partner. Khatab reveals to Asma that he is a DJ in episode 2 and the two express that they both work a lot. When asked why they had not yet married in life, they both gave the same answer and Asma told Khatab that she thought he was “cool”.
Asma and Khatab showed promise
After connecting in the pods, Khatab, a 32-year-old architect, DJ and music producer, and Asma, 33, a regional marketing manager and entrepreneur, try to start their romance.
The two can be seen working out together during the Netflix show and seem to have high hopes for their families to be reunited within the Love Is Blind Habibi “timeline.”
Asma says she talks to her parents every day during episode 7. She explains how her sister, Nihal, was going to Canada to talk to her parents about marriage.
Khatab admits, “I feel stress and nervous about his parents, so let’s see what happens.”
Asma tells Khatab that her parents still disagree: “I talk to them every day. It is not registered yet. It’s not yet. Not exactly.”
In episode 7, Khatab catches up with his uncle and mother. He tells them that Asma’s parents want to meet him before she meets her family members.
However, there is a problem because they live in Canada, so Khatab cannot meet them before the wedding.

Although Asma says that her parents should fly from Canada to meet Khatab, there is still no sign of them in episode 8.
Asma tries on her wedding dress and explains that she wishes her mother were there, but goes ahead with the wedding plans anyway.
Things seemed to be headed toward marital bliss, but in episode 9, Asma says “no” at the altar.
Love Is Blind cast member Habibi says: “No, not today. Because today is just the beginning, this is not the day to make my decision. It is a no for today but a yes for another day and every day.”
He leaves Khatab at the altar and says, “This moment is one of the hardest things I have ever done” and concludes that he “needs his parents’ blessing” to get married.
Asma confirms that she “wasn’t saying no” to Khatab and they agree that they can “continue together.”
After the show, Khatab and Asma still follow each other on Instagram, which could be an indicator that they are still getting along.
Taking to Asma’s IG comments, another of her co-stars, Mohamed AKA Mido, writes: “The purest soul I’ve ever met in the pods.”
Asma replies: “Wallahi enta gameel, and I am happy to have met my fellow Egyptian.”
Many fans hope that Asma and Khatab stay together since filming.
But one writes: “It was so clear that he was going to say no the moment he saw khattab for the first time! But she chooses to continue with a fake relationship.”
Another answers: “…for fame.”
Fans are now eagerly awaiting the Love Is Blind Habibi reunion!
