Big Brother UK’s ‘Nasty Nick’ Bateman is now an entrepreneur ‘living the Australian dream’

Big Brother UK season 1 contestant ‘Nasty Nick’ Bateman has been kicked off the show for breaking an important rule. However, his life has only gotten better as he is now “living the dream” in Australia.

Although the Big Brother UK housemate never received a single eviction nomination, he was eventually exposed by the other housemates after producers tipped him off, in violation of the rules.

‘Nasty Nick’ broke Big Brother’s main rule

Nick Bateman, who earned the nickname Nasty Nick due to his secretive nature of pitting contestants against each other. After 34 days, he was finally exposed by the other housemates.

Producers notified his critical housemates, who confronted him about his behavior and uncovered his attempts to manipulate his housemates’ votes in the eviction process.

The producers asked him to leave, but he had no idea how famous the show would make him. Bateman went on to host the television show Trust Me and co-wrote a book, Nasty Bateman: How to Be a Good Bastard.

Reality TV loved him after his exit

Nick has also appeared in the reality series Back to Reality and the pantomime Big Brother. Later, he appeared as a narrator in a stage production of The Rocky Horror Show.

Then in 2010, Bateman made his return to reality TV when he competed on Ultimate Big Brother and finished in fifth place. He also appeared on Channel 5’s Big Brother’s Bit on the Side.

Bateman also presented a weekly radio show on 107.8 Academy FM in Kent in 2011 and appeared in pantomime on several occasions. But just two years later, he packed his bags and left the UK for good.

Bateman ‘living a dream’ in Australia

Nick is now “living the dream” in Australia. He moved to Sydney in 2013, where he works as an entrepreneur and often shares photos of his trips there, such as to Brisbane.

The former stockbroker now works in sales and marketing as an independent consultant and is currently in a relationship but has not remarried. Even in Australia, Big Brother fans still watch it!

Nick hasn’t kept in touch with his former housemates, including winner Craig Phillips and runners-up Anna Nolan and Darren Ramsay, but tells The Sun he is “content and happy”.

He writes on Twitter: “Published author. once from England. Now I’m living the dream in Australia,” while regularly sharing photos from airplane cabins while traveling around the continent.
