Cynthia Bailey ‘didn’t want to go back to RHOA’

When it comes to Real Housewives, there are some really standout stars throughout the franchise.

Judging by fans’ Reddit threads and tweets, many are “ride or die” for Cynthia Bailey. She first joined RHOA in season 3 and remained a full-time cast member until season 13.

After leaving the Bravo show, Cynthia returned two seasons later as a ‘guest.’

Now she talks to Jeff Lewis on his SiriusXM radio show about how she ended up returning to the show for season 15, this time as a “friend of.”

This fall he tells Jeff, “Yes. At first I didn’t want to go back at all. Housewife or a friend because it had been, you know, a long time and I just needed a break…”

The RHOA star took a 180 degree turn

Despite initially rejecting the idea of a ‘friend of’ RHOA return, Cynthia changed her mind because she “missed the show” and “the girls too much.”

The reality TV star tells Jeff: “…after my break, I was like, ‘Shit. I miss it a little bit,’ so I thought, ‘Well, I’m really focused on my acting career.'”

Thinking about how she would fit back into the Season 15 cast, she adds, “I likened it to, you know, a breakup, but you know, my friend felt like, ‘I broke up with you.’ “

Cynthia adds: “Oh well, they kind of broke up with me, but anyway, they’ll still be able to get the c***hie. That’s what I felt.”

Despite having mixed feelings along the way, Cynthia chose to return to the show as a ‘friend of’ in the end.

She tells Jeff, “I felt like I was giving it without strings attached. Yes, that’s what I felt.”

The star thought to herself: “…’it’s been like two years. I was like, “You know what? In fact, I miss girls. I miss the show’ and I felt like the role of friend for me is the best way I want to be a part of it right now.”
