Strictly Come Dancing series 22, week 7, sees JLS star JB Gill’s professional partner Amy Dowden absent from the results. Presenter Tess Daly addresses Amy’s disappearance from the show by explaining to viewers that the dancer was unable to join the rest of the cast for the results show. A spokesperson for Amy has issued a statement, much to the relief of her fans.
Strictly Come Dancing professional Amy Dowden returned to the competition series this year, much to the delight of her fans. The 34-year-old dancer battled cancer last year and was able to return “home”, in the words of judge Shirley Ballas for series 22.

Amy Dowden’s Strict Absence
The Strictly Come Dancing results show was missing a fan favorite this Sunday after Amy Dowden suffered a medical emergency.
The Welsh dancer and her partner JB Gill performed a foxtrot during Saturday’s live show, but Amy was rushed to hospital after falling ill.
Amy’s absence was noted when the results were broadcast on Sunday. The show was filmed on Saturday night after the live show ended.
A spokesperson for Amy provides an update on how the star is doing now, according to The Mirror:
“Amy was not feeling well and so they called an ambulance as a precaution. He feels much better and would like to thank the Strictly family for their love and concern. “We request that you kindly respect Amy’s health privacy.”

Amy is a ‘cancer warrior’
Strict star Amy was awarded an MBE this year “for her services to fundraising and awareness of inflammatory bowel disease”.
She is an advocate and ambassador for the charity Crohn’s & Colitis UK. Amy’s health problems worsened when she faced a serious illness last year, battling stage three breast cancer.
After being diagnosed in May 2023, she “came out the other side with doctors declaring ‘no evidence’ of cancer in her body in February,” according to Radio Times.
The BBC show dancer writes in her Instagram bio: “Breast cancer warrior” and shares a pinned post on her page detailing the day she “rang the bell,” marking the end of her cancer treatment. in November of last year.
At the time, he wrote: “Thank you all for your love and support along the way. My dancing shoes are heating up and I can’t wait to get back to the training room!
Now, thankfully, Amy is back on Strictly and her absence from Week 7 was due to a bout of “feeling bad”, which she is recovering from.
