It seems that Kim Kardashian can’t distinguish between right and wrong. The reality star usually shows off in a big way and this fall is no exception. She makes jaws drop by dressing up as an albino alligator for Halloween, and turns heads in her latest ensemble at the 2024 LACMA Arts + Film Gala. However, some people are criticizing Kim’s look as totally “disrespectful.”
This November, Kim Kardashian appears in a floor-length dress with a V-neckline cut to the navel. The Kardashian star’s dress provided the perfect backdrop for her to show off some jewelry around her neck, and that’s what she did. Kim poses for photographs at the event showing off Princess Diana’s Attallah Cross necklace that has not been seen in public since Lady Di’s death in 1997.

Kim Kardashian, described as “disrespectful”
When Kim takes a look, she really goes to town and there’s no denying that she was giving Lady Di’s necklace its shining moment this fall.
However, critics call the mother of four “disrespectful.”
Many people are at odds with the Hulu star for wearing the $200,000 Lady Diana necklace.
In a Reddit thread, one person explodes: “The goal was probably to get some limelight, and that’s what it was.”
More people remember Kim’s previous fashion statements and add more comments: “I mean, she’s been doing too much her entire career.”
Oh. The harsh criticism doesn’t stop there either. Another writes: “I think it’s a bad fashion choice. In my opinion, it seems stupid.”
Critics cite the time Kim used another deceased icon’s clothes as ammunition to dismantle her appearance: “I mean, she even got Marilyn dirty by damaging her dress…”
But Kim’s mother, Kris Jenner, set the record straight about the Monroe dress rumor while appearing on The Late Late Show with James Corden two years ago.
During a lie detector test she was asked: “Did Kim tear up Marilyn’s dress at the Met Ball?”
Kris responded, “No,” before the result came in: “True.”
She smiles: “Look, today we are going to clarify everything. “I like this game.”
So it seems like some people’s criticism of Kim doesn’t really hold up.

‘Kim is honoring iconic women’
While tons of people take the opportunity to criticize Kim for wearing Lady Diana’s jewelry, a large number also question them, asking why the move is “disrespectful.”
One of Kim’s fans asks, “How is that disrespectful? “It’s not like it’s Diana’s precious sentimental necklace.”
Another seems to be an expert on the daring accessory, writing: “Yes, it’s the royal necklace, but it never actually belonged to Diana! He lent it to her on several occasions and then Kim bought it when it went on sale.”
More people say Kim wearing the necklace is “fair enough” since she “bought it and owns it.”
He bought the stunning amethyst cross last year at the sale of the Royal and Noble collection at Sotheby’s auction house, CNN writes.
However, one adds: “…but it could be designed better. But what do I know? “I’m wearing Costco jeans.”
More weigh in, echoing the same message: “I mean, she bought it at auction with her money, so why can’t she use it?”
Others are willing to share their thoughts on what the late princess would have thought of Kim and her use of the piece: “Would Diana even care? She herself wore some pretty daring outfits for the time. She didn’t hate other women. If she were alive, perhaps she would appreciate the tribute.”
Another agrees, writing, “I’ll probably be downvoted into oblivion, but I don’t mind her wearing these items in honor of these iconic women, I just wish she’d go all the way and pick stylish outfits to match.”
“To be fair, Princess Di was a bit of a rebel and enjoyed walking the line when it came to “appropriate” clothing,” says another commenter.
More agree, writing: “I think Di would have liked it, honestly. “She was such a sweet soul.”
“I totally agree, Di loved the attention and taking risks, she also loved fooling the paparazzi. I think she would have loved another woman to thrive in the spotlight with her,” says another ‘Team Kim’ person.
