Kody Brown “lives in fear” that his latest wife, Robyn, will leave him. His three previous wives, who appeared with him on Sister Wives, decided to leave him behind as a one-woman man.
Sister Wives follows the polyamorous lifestyle led by Kody Brown. He was previously spiritually married to four wives in total: Christine, Janelle, Meri and Robyn Brown, but only one of them remains.
Kody Brown ‘lives in fear’ of the past
Kody Brown admits he “struggled with what his values are” while going through divorce proceedings with his three ex-wives. “I’ve lost my sense of direction in my life, I had this image that was shattered,” he said.
He’s in a “safe, kind, sweet place” with his wife, Robyn, but then “feels really guilty that he’s not more involved with everyone else.” She says he has been “angry and upset” in recent years.
“It’s just him in a painful place, in a place of fear that I’ll leave him too,” Robyn tells the Sister Wives cameras. Kody then says his purpose was “always his family” 30 years ago, when he turned 55.
Robyn wants to ‘mend’ relationships
Robyn has begged Kody to “repair relationships” with other members of her family. However, he disagreed and told her that he would “rather take some time to get to a better place with her.”
Kody told his remaining wife: “I’ve been in this place for a long, long time and it hurts us more than it hurts them. I’m very angry and I don’t mean to let you know.
“My heart is broken as I sit here with the person I love most in the world. You react with this sweet and special emotion that you have. “I’m very angry,” he says through tears.
Robyn begged him to “keep trying” to reach out to Kody’s 18 children, but he said, “I’m only guilty of not falling in love with their mothers,” before saying in a confessional, “Our family was killed by gossip.”
