MAFS UK stars Caspar Todd and Emma Barnes get teary-eyed during episode 25 of season 9. Caspar tells the experts: “We feel sad because we came here for love.” The two abandon the experiment after trying to get married. Although Caspar didn’t find love during the show, he says he left with a “best friend.”
Married At First Sight UK proves difficult for many series 9 contestants. As strangers meet and marry based on expert matches, their romances unfold on screen. As Caspar leaves the show, he tells his fans of his admiration for his friend who “kept his cool under pressure.” He says his co-star had a “difficult edit” that didn’t show him “as a person.”

Caspar ‘lost three closest friends’
As MAFS UK completes its ninth series, more and more couples are throwing in the towel on their marriages. Caspar reflected on his time with Emma and said, “There are a lot of good things about our relationship.”
But “one comment” proved too much for Caspar. He and Emma left the E4 show in episode 25.
Following the earlier departure of Richelle, Orson and Hannah and Stephen, their co-star, Caspar, delves into what the relationships between the participants in the experiment are really like.
“Tonight I lost three of my closest friends in the experiment… and I miss them all. They were fantastic sports, Richelle, Orson, Stephen and even Hannah in the moments when she needed someone, I was there for her… it was very difficult for me,” she tells her Instagram followers.
“I really care about everyone on that show… it was a very tight-knit group of people,” he adds.
Caspar adds: “…That was the worst thing about us tonight and it was very sad to see.”
MAFS UK’s Caspar says “best friend had a bad edit”
Speaking of Stephen Nolson, Caspar says, “I got to know him very well… he has become one of my best friends, someone I can trust.”
Three months after filming MAFS UK, Caspar explains how he and Stephen have become very close.
She tells her fans that her co-star has “a big heart,” adding, “It’s my pleasure… I think he’s had a really tough edit.”
Caspar concludes that the show didn’t show Stephen “as a person at all,” adding, “Remember, it’s an edit we see here.”
