RHONY star Barbara Kavovit starred on the show in season 11, but the experience certainly left a mark on her. She “hoped to get out alive” and has now written a murder mystery novel.
As a friend of The Real Housewives of New York City, Barbara Kavovit has now announced the release of her new book, Murder in Modica, and it’s all thanks to the Bravo show that even exists.

Barbara Kavovit releases murder mystery book
Author Barbara Kavovit, who appeared on season 11 of RHONY, has written a murder mystery book. It was thanks to her experience filming with Bravo that she came up with the idea in the first place!
She’s already written empowering non-fiction books Heels of Steel, Room For Improvement and Invest In Your Nest, but it’s about time the star told a particularly chilling story for her fans.
Kavovit appeared on RHONY as a guest in seasons 3 to 9, then as a friend of Luann de Lesseps in season 11, who said, “Barbara was one of the few who was there for her during her journey to sobriety.”
Barbara has been incredibly inspired by her experience filming as a friend for season 11 of RHONY. She hoped she had “kept saying throughout Housewives that she hopes to make it out alive,” as she told OK.
She joked: “Every time we went on a casting trip or did something, I felt like someone was going to stab me in my sleep. “I wanted to do a murder mystery for a long time.”
“And I said, ‘You know what? There’s something there with Housewives and the feeling that I wasn’t going to make it out alive,’” Kavovitz continued, admitting how dramatic the shoot was.
Despite the experience, Kavovit doesn’t regret going on the show, saying, “Even though some of the things that happened weren’t positive, there’s always something you take away that you can learn from.”
“Because I am a very positive person. I tried to spin it like, ‘Okay, I learned something.’ I am a better person. I grew from it,’” said Kavovit, who serves as founder and CEO of Evergreen Construction.
