Ashley Darby talks about working for her ex
When Ashley Darby’s RHOP co-star Keiarna revealed that her partner “called her an employee the other day,” it reminded her of her own experience working for her ex-husband of eight years, Michael Darby, 64.
Before joining the show, Darby worked as a waitress at one of her then-future husband’s restaurants.
She said, “You know, I worked with my ex-husband and that wasn’t nice.”
While Darby is a certified yoga instructor, former restaurant owner, and former 2011 pageant queen, her ex is very successful. He is an Australian restaurateur and large-scale real estate agent, whom he married in 2014.
Michael and Ashley first separated amid the closure of their restaurant, Oz, but in the following years they welcomed their children and continued to work on their marriage.
The RHOP star divorced her ex in 2022
Darby is the owner of yoga brand ZenGem and split from her ex in 2022.
She said: “We are both at very different stages of our lives now and have different goals for our future.”
“No reason is the root cause of our mutual decision to go our separate ways. “We both want each other to achieve true happiness and fulfillment and we feel like we can’t achieve it together,” Darby added.
She was later romantically linked to Summer House star Luke Gulbranson. However, she confirmed their breakup in January after less than three months of dating, and that time she was not his employee.
Now, Darby and her ex-husband are co-parenting their children. She said at BravoCon 2023: “All they know is that they have two houses and they can have twice as many toys. That has been good.”
He added that they “really have no relationship.” They share sons Dean, four, and Dylan, two, while Darby admitted being married had “professional and financial benefits.”
