Tom Sandoval hasn’t just taken a break from his girlfriend of nine years, Ariana Madix, after cheating on her with Rachel Leviss. He also had to distance himself from his best friend, Jax Taylor.

Tom Sandoval took a break from Jax
After news of their affair became public, Tom Sandoval distanced himself from his best friend Jax Taylor, as one of several loved ones he needed to “take a break” from, according to Jax.
“He and I have been best friends for many, many years,” Jax explained on his When Reality Hits podcast. “Obviously [his affair] “It was a big, big deal and we had to take a little break in our friendship.”
“He had to take a break from a lot of friendships, but I think time heals all wounds,” Taylor added. However, it wasn’t just the recent romance that caused a rift in their friendship.
On season 2 of Vanderpump Rules, Taylor admitted to sleeping with Kristen Doute, Tom’s girlfriend at the time. While Tom eventually forgave his best friend, their friendship remained confusing.
Another major blow to their relationship came when Jax demoted Tom from best man to best man for his wedding to ex-wife Brittany Cartwright. Strange.

Sandoval and Taylor are now “best friends” again. By 2018, the two, along with Tom Schwartz, were the ultimate trio and were often seen at public events laughing together.
When Taylor went to in-house mental health treatment, where he discovered he had bipolar disorder and was a narcissist, Sandoval reached out to show his old friend that he was always there for him.
“I think we’re all human, we all make mistakes and I think, you know what? He will always be my best friend. [He] and Tom Schwartz are my best friends and I love them to death,” Jax concluded.
Taylor added: “And, like I said, I think it’s time to move on. “I really believe it.” Now, the two talk at least three times a week, which is a big difference from Sandoval who previously “dated married couples.”
